The NFLPA Professional Athletes Foundation (PAF) invites you to join the launch of a virtual peer-support conversation, PAUSE by PAF, exclusively for NFLPA Former Players.

PAUSE provides a confidential space to connect with fellow former players, share common experiences, offer encouragement, and foster ongoing mental well-being through open dialogue and mutual support.

PAUSE by PAF is a peer-support initiative created by the NFLPA Professional Athletes Foundation that brings players together for open, confidential conversations about life on and off the field. PAUSE stands for Players Advocate, Uplift, Support & Empower.

NFLPA Former Players seeking a safe, supportive environment to connect with peers, share experiences, and gain encouragement from others who understand the unique challenges of life during and after football.

Yes. Any interested former player may complete the form and will be invited to the next session: Player Interest Form

Participants can expect a guided conversation centered on topics that impact former player wellness, personal growth, transition, mental health, relationships, and other life experiences. The goal is to create meaningful dialogue and connection among peers.

No. PAUSE is not therapy, counseling, or a clinical treatment program. It is a peer-support conversation where players can connect, share experiences, listen, and learn from one another. Professional resources may be shared when appropriate.

Yes. PAUSE is intended to provide a confidential, secure, and respectful environment where participants can engage in honest discussions. Participants are expected to respect the privacy of other players and not share personal stories outside of the session.

No. Participation is encouraged, but players are welcome to engage in whatever way feels comfortable. Some participants may choose to share openly, while others may prefer to listen and learn.

PAUSE sessions will be offered regularly throughout the year. Participant feedback will help determine future scheduling, topics, and format.

No. Participation in PAUSE by PAF is offered at no cost to former NFL players.

No. At this time, the audience is exclusively NFLPA Former Players. Limiting participation to players helps foster a confidential and supportive environment where participants can connect through shared experiences and have open, honest conversations with their peers. We appreciate the important role family members and loved ones play in a player’s support system and may explore future opportunities designed specifically for those audiences.
