Negative Emotions and Your Health

We all know that having positive emotions is good for our health:

  • Happy people have a 50 percent lower heart attack and stroke risk
  • A positive attitude lowers inflammation in the body, which is an underlying cause of disease
  • Optimists live longer

But do we really understand how negative emotions affect our health? The truth is that our emotions have a profound effect on our pH levels. An over acidic body is another underlying cause of disease.  If we are in a negative state, the body creates even more metabolic ash than from the foods that we are eating and the drinks that we are drinking.  In fact, we can create two or three times more metabolic acids from our thoughts then from our acidic diet such as sugar, dairy and animal protein.  Our thoughts definitely create our reality. If we think toxic thoughts, we will have a toxic life.  Toxic thoughts not only damage our organs, but they also create an acidic environment, which is something that we should be avoiding at all costs.  Once our cells become acidic, they become a breeding ground for bacteria, mold, and viruses.  The more alkaline our cells, the less chance we have of developing various diseases.

So how do we get rid of negative emotions? It takes work every day. We must control our thoughts every second of every day in order to achieve good health. Every morning, I start my day writing in my gratitude journal and I think about all of the things that I grateful for.   The universe always responds by giving me more things to be grateful for. Think about it.  If you’re not grateful for the things that you already have, then why would the Universe give you more to be grateful for?  I also make sure that I take 15 or 20 minutes each morning to recite positive affirmations. Catherine Ponder and Louise Hay have written plenty of books with amazing affirmations that get results. These are two of my favorite authors.  Now might be a good time to head on over to Amazon and invest in a positive mindset.

Make sure that you thinking positive emotions, such as love, peace, hope, faith, and forgiveness. All of these emotions are alkalizing to the blood and tissues. Negative emotions such as anger, resentment, and fear are the most acidic.  Fear is the most acidic emotion of them all. It is so devastating to the body that even if you are on an alkaline diet, it makes overcoming a serious health challenge impossible.

Don’t make the mistake of being a “Negative Nelly”, because a prolonged state of negativity can have dire consequences when it comes to your health.  Negative thoughts will certainly keep you from achieving optimal health.
